Solid Surface Repair and Restoration

Solid Surface

At Elite Stone & Tile Care, we have been specially trained in solid surface repair and restoration processes for Avonite, Corian, EOS, Formica Solid Surface, LG Hi Macs, Wilsonart Gibraltar, and other solid surfaces.

Solid Surface Insights

Solid surface is a man made material generally composed of acrylic, epoxy, ATH, and/or polyester resins and pigments. DuPont was first to patent a solid surface material called Corian back in 1967. Since then, dozens of other companies have created their own solid surface material and put it on the market for consumer use.

Solid surface has many great qualities including stain resistance and germ repellening attributes, plus it never needs to be sealed, but it is highly favored for two other big reasons: installs are done in a seamless manor, meaning that no seams will be visable in the project and solid surface sinks can be molded seamlessly into countertop projects.

Solid surface also has another interesting and unique quality. It can be heat treated to form curves and other shapes. You could create a round or oddly shaped reception desk, go over a waterfall edge with no seams, just a nice soft, rounded over edge or create vertical applications such as wall art.

WE ARE SOLID SURFACE EXPERTS.

Does solid surface require maintenance?

The short answer is yes, solid surface does require maintenance. Although maintenance is usually minimal, regular cleaning with a solid surface safe cleaner or just warm soapy water is  great for simple day-to-day maintenance, but over time, depending on usage, your solid surface may start to become dull,  scratched or show other damage like burns or cracks.
If these problems develop, you may become more and more dissatisfied with the appearance of your solid surface and you may think you have to replace it.
You don’t. Elite Stone and Tile Care can fix and/or restore your solid surface back to it’s original, newly installed condition for a fraction of the cost of replacement.
